Regenerative Agriculture Taste Comparisons

In this full interview segment, Sherry Hess of The Flavor Remedy and Herb Young from Squeeze Citrus sit down and talk all things flavor and nutrient density related.

Herb is a regenerative citrus farmer in southern Georgia who left the conventional world of agriculture to start his own small citrus grove. Over the years his experience with chemical laden industrial agricultural practices led him to understand that there is much more resilience, less toxicity, and a much greater support for living microbes in the soil in regenerative farming practices. And - most importantly, how these practices produce more flavorful fruit.

Although the original intention of our talk was to compare tastes between conventionally grown grapefruit and his regeneratively grown grapefruit, (which we do!)  in the end, we touched on how flavor not only correlates to a great tasting fruit, but how those flavors represent nutrient density, crop resiliency, satiation, support for weight loss microbiome support and overall health. Herb also discusses how his regenerative practices support these differences in flavor concentration.

See also our small segments where each of these topics gets highlighted as it's own talking point.
